hey, I'm sarah

A Registered Clinical Counsellor drawn to nuance—the messy in-betweens, a little this and that, both and neither, and the quiet glow of city windows just before dusk.

I have expertise in Perinatal Mental Health, which means I'm specially trained to support you in this season of your life. Rooted in the softness of conversation and inspired by the structure and style of stories, my work lives at the intersection of emotion and felt experience. I’m here to help you tell your story; not just what you see, but what you feel—those fleeting, honest moments that often go ignored until they’re named.

Outside of clinical language, what I want you to know is simpler: I take this season of your life seriously. Not as a phase to get through, but as one of the most significant chapters a person can move through — worthy of real attention, real depth, and real care.

A thoughtful approach to effective therapy

I know first-hand what it’s like to discover (and eventually balance) different versions of myself.

I’m a perinatal therapist based in Kelowna, BC, and my work explores two things I care about deeply: the inner lives of parents, and the stories we tell about who we’re supposed to be. I've always been drawn to and fascinated by the intensity of motherhood; supporting moms in their self-discovery has powered my work for over 5 years. Then, I had my own experience with postpartum depression after the birth of my son. Something *clicked* for me after that. You can trust that you're receiving care from someone who gets it, really gets it.

Therapy isn't meant to be one-size-fits all. I intentionally meet you right where you are, in whatever you find yourself in. It's there that we thoughtfully work together on your journey. I'm a co-pilot of sorts! I bring with me a careful attention to detail, a curious mind and a promise to be an active participant in your experience. I'm listening not just for what's being said, but what's being felt. It's there that I can inject clinical knowledge, practical skills if needed, and the structure of support.

In-between sessions you can find me in a Lagree class, adjusting to motherhood with my hilarious son, convincing my husband to come on a run with me, reading romantasy, or watching the latest season of Drag Race.

I also draw from narrative therapy as a primary way of ‘intervening’, because I believe so much of our suffering comes from stories we didn’t choose and don’t have to keep. Together, these approaches mean our work isn’t just about symptom relief — it’s about coming home to yourself, with someone steady beside you.

I have training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), which influences how I work with emotion — not as something to manage or move past quickly, but as something worth slowing down for, feeling fully, and understanding.
